Pineapple Recipes

Pineapple/Banana Protein Shake

(If you drink a protein shake after working out, you need to try this, it is fantastic.)

1 big handful of fresh or frozen pineapple
1 banana
1 cup ice water
1 scoop whey protein powder

Put all of this in a blender and give it hell for a minute or two. If you have some cherries around, throw in a handful of those too. Enjoy!

Shrimp & Pineapple Kabobs

Ingredients

1 cup low cal Italian dressing
1/2 cup chili sauce
1 Tbsp lemon juice
Pepper to taste
1 1/2 lbs. medium shrimp - peeled, deveined & dried
1 onion, cut up into 2 inch pieces
1 lg. green pepper cut into 2 inch pieces
1/4 fresh pineapple, cut into 2 inch pieces
1 box cherry tomatoes
Orange and lemon slices
Wood skewers

Instructions

In 2 quart bowl, combine the dressing, chili sauce, lemon juice, and pepper. Add the shrimp and stir until it is well coated. Cover and refrigerate overnight (or at least a few hours). Boil the onion and green pepper for about 30 seconds. Drain and dry thoroughly. Now alternate the shrimp, green pepper, onion, tomatoes, pineapple, and the orange & lemon slices on skewers.

Brush with the marinade. Grill over low coals until the shrimp is pink and tender, about 10 or 15 minutes. This will serve about 5 or 6 people.
