Need french fries but not the potatoes? Use turnips instead. Boil them until about half done, put them in the freezer for about 5 or 10 minutes (don't freeze them, just chill them) and then deep fry them. The oil isn't the greatest for you but using turnips instead of potatoes cuts way down on the calories and such so turnip fries are still a pretty good choice. They taste pretty good too, you'll like them. |
